On this day I painted with several artists, including Kathleen Dunphy (click for self-portrait) I ended up buying myself a wonderful work of hers called “After the Rain“. She’s a wonderful local artist, and lives in Murphy’s, just outside Angels Camp.
We were lucky this week. This is short period between the raging rains we had this year and sunny, clear weather when the greens are intense before turning yellow. This painting captures that. I designed the painting to give the feeling of depth and air by using a large portion of the work for sky.
