I’m getting a shipment of 15 paintings ready to the Pheonix Topeka Gallery (in Kansas) and came across this painting of Lake Tahoe requested by Kyle, the owner. I love how a plein air painting can take you back instantly to the time and place, everything about the day. This painting does that for me. Unfortunately, I remember those dawn misquitoes too, but you take the good with the bad.

Cloud Burst, Lake Tahoe

Cloud Burst (Lake Tahoe) – Oil on Linen – 8×10

So, I hope to come back with more from this trip. We’re actually staying at Sam and Phil’s place in Alta, nearby.¬† I’ll be painting with my friend Andy Skaff, who has promised some newly discovered painting spots. He lives in Tahoe part time, so knows the area well. I need new inspiration now and then. A change of scenery does wonders for me.
