Viewpoints Gallery Spring Show Reception

Yesterday’s “Spring Show” reception at Viewpoints Gallery went well.  It was very well attended, thanks to the sunny weather we had that’s been sorely lacking in the past 6 months. Toning Canvas

If you’re a painter and have been exposed to many other working artists (in workshops, plein air events, etc) you’ll notice some commonalities in how we paint, and certainly lots of individual differences. One significant difference I’ve noticed to the practice of toning your canvas. Most plein air artists agree that a start white canvas … Read more

Camille Przwodeck Workshops

Color–more than any other element–is what most people complement my work for. I’m happy for that, because together with composition–something most people don’t think about, because it’s subtle–color is something I really focus on. They are both large 16×20″ (image) paintings (see below). The Auction will be held Monday, April at Theatro ZinZanni, on Pier 29 at San Francisco ‘s … Read more

Peninsula Plein Air Invitational

Recieved a letter today inviting me to participate in “Peninsula Plein Air”, an invitational exhibtion at Filoli (the mansion used in the TV show “Dallas” and films like “The Wedding Planner”). Sounds like fun. I need to submit 3 paintings of the Peninsula. What do you think about the paintings below? I have some time … Read more

Pushing Color

I tried to abstract this scene out more than I accomplished, although I’m happy with the color harmony, and I think the values are pretty solid. “Beach Town”, Half Moon Bay, CA Oil on Linen, 9×12″
