As you can imagine, this was done from a photograph (digital projected on a TV) given Yosemite is probably covered in snow right now. I started with transparent washes of oil and built up the painting. Too bad the photo below doesn’t capture much of that…best to see it in person.
I love the saturated colors. I’m sure it is even more wonderful in real life.
Thanks, Lisa. You’re right, looks better in person. It’s such a struggle to get an accurate digital photo, even after adjusting in software. The best representations I have are my smaller works, where I have a digital scanner.
